What is the Tier-1 School Mental Health Assessment and how do we use it?
Districts and schools can evaluate their universal school mental health programs
This assessment tool will provide schools with custom recommendations and suggestions based on their current programming.
The Tier-1 Mental Health assessment is designed to support schools and districts in evaluating their universal school mental health programs. We recommend that schools identify an individual or small group with knowledge of mental health programming to take this assessment.
The assessment has questions in the following topic areas:
- Foundational Core
- Classroom Education
- Student Empowerment
- Family Engagement
- Policy & Staff Development
- Schoolwide Campaigns
- Data Driven Practices
The school professional who completes the assessment will be provided with a formal report with custom recommendations based on the results. In addition, the Erika’s Lighthouse Education team is available to consult with any school about the results and recommended actions.
Please know that any school can complete the Tier-1 Mental Health Assessment, regardless of whether or not they use Erika’s Lighthouse programming. Completing the Tier-1 Mental Health Assessment also enables schools to qualify for the Peggy Kubert Model School in Mental Health Excellence recognition.
